The Bronze Age brought with it new burial customs. Mounds of stones began to be raised over the dead. These were often placed just at the shore line. People hunted and fished along the coast. Perhaps they wanted to show approaching strangers that this stretch of coast was inhabited. These cairns are now found 30-50 metres above sea level in the forest between Näskefjärden and Kälsviken.
For several hundred years, the forest has been used for grazing, and the mires have been mown for hay. Some summer farm buildings remain at Näskebodarna. There were once around ten buildings at the summer grazing settlement at Skrattabbortjärnen. Several of today´s park
trails follow the old grazing settlement paths.
